CUBICLE – I have developed my own diet, and am looking forward to sharing this with the rest of the world.
I am not overweight, but I do worry about my little tummy because of the endless hours sitting in front of the computer (like…now). I used to have all types of snacks in my drawers – the top drawer would have some candies such as Skittles; middle one with some crackers; bottom one with some gummies from Costco (like the whole box). Based on a 2,500 calories diet for a man, I could get that in the first 5 hours of the day.
So I did the following:
1. stopped buying Skittles, chocolate bars, and gummies (well…still buy them sometimes in smaller packages)
2. started my gum diet!
You might ask what the gum diet is. Allow me to explain my logic, and then you can laugh you gum out: my stomach is used to doing its work digesting food when my mouth is chewing (on food), so if I keep chewing something without really eating it, I can hack my brain to make it think that I am eating while not having food intake! So for the past few months, I’ve been following this diet to stay away from eating junk food when I am stressed at work. I would say that so far it’s working well along with some sit-ups on my gym ball, and I just haven’t had much junk food at work anymore!
Of course, there is the downside:
1. Sometimes the gum would stick on my upper lip after I pop a bubble
2. I burp so much now because of the air I get into my stomach while chewing gum
So next time if you’re hungry at work, pull out a stick of Extra and chew the gum away like there’s no tomorrow~!

I have tried the gum diet as well. I bought a pack of gum from costco and I split it in half with my coworker. I couldn’t chew all that gum, my jaw got tired after a while but I have to say that when you’re hungry in the morning and you pop that gum, it really works as an appetite suppressant. I guess I really hate the after taste of the fake sugar but it works if the purpose is to eliminate snacking.
