The Cubicle Times

CUBICLE – I have 3 favorite apps in the cubicle, and without any one of them, my day wouldn’t be complete…

1. Facebook: since my company blocked Facebook (such cruelty), the only way that I can stay in contact with the outside world (exaggeration…) is through the FB app on my iPhone.   People are so busy nowadays, that we don’t really get to have time to hang out with our friends.  The disappearance of our free time as we grow older, every tiny little time slot at work should be fully utilized to somehow keep in touch.  FB thus becomes one of my 3 favorite apps because I get to know what my friends and family are up to, and by writing a short message or wall-post sends a little warm and love over..

2. Pandora: music is also a “must” at work for me! With all the noise around me, the option of selecting what I want to listen to is critical (exaggeration, again…).  When I am ready to prepare for a presentation, I open my Chopin or Mozart channel to keep me focused; when working on the boring Emails, I listen to some smooth jazz to keep me going; when frustrated, 2Pac keeps me company with all his… well, interesting lyrics :P  Of course, Pandora’s blocked on my company’s network, so this app has also been selected as one of my cubicle favorites!

3. Boxed In: this is a little puzzle game where you have to push boxes out of the way to reach a destination, and it requires some good planning and brain cells.  I like to play this game when I am waiting for my fiancee, since oftentimes she has to work late.  I don’t get to use much brain during the work day (OK, fine, maybe some…), so this is my fun time to exercise the rusty brain cells! It took me a few weeks to go through all 50 levels, but every time I go back, I find it still intriguing~
