overload

CUBICLE - Knowledge and information is overflowing nowadays! It’s good to know to a certain degree, but sometimes it gets so overwhelming that we are prisoners of what we know!  Back in the days, things were simpler because people expected less and knew less.  Now, everyday when I wake up, I know just about everything that’s going to happen today:

1. The weather is going to be 68 degrees throughout the day until night time, dropping to 45.

2. Traffic on I-5 will be bad until the Lincoln Exit.

3. I have 15 miles left in my gas tank.

4. The closest gas station according to AroundMe app is 1.1 miles away from my current location.

5. My 8am meeting has been delayed 30 minutes because I just got a message on my phone.

6. James’ baby couldn’t sleep until 3am last night because I saw it on James’ FB update

7. Pinkberry has a promotion today and only today.

8. My team saw and replied to my Email from last night.  2 of the members will challenge the proposal!

9. NASDAQ is doing well this morning when it opened.

I mean, all the information was in my head even before I left the apartment! Did I need to know all these details, or maybe I should have just enjoyed my quiet 20 minutes drinking my milk and listening to some good music.  Clouded with all the knowledge and information in my head, I worried about the traffic, or where to get gas, and whether I would have time to make it to Pinkberry, or how I should defend my proposal at work.  Sometimes I wish things were simpler…
